Wonderful World of Widgets: Generator Status Determination Exercise Course Objective: The objective of this course is for students to learn to determine the hazardous waste generator status of an industrial facility and to complete forms required of small quantity generators. |

| Course
Contents: Virtual
lectures and hands-on activities are set up in a series of six assignments
to enable students to learn to
conduct hazardous waste generator status determinations within industrial
facilities. Students will attend several brief virtual lectures which
overview the hazardous waste determination steps and the hazardous waste
generator requirements. Then, they will apply
these rules through a series of exercises while being guided through
the
determination of the Wonderful World of Widgets generator
status.
Students will also be prompted to calculate the amount of hazardous waste generated each month by the Wonderful World of Widgets. They will learn smart business practices which include management and procedural changes which can help to maintain a lower hazardous waste generation rate. And, students will be exposed to several intricacies and interpretations in the regulations when making the generator status determination for the Wonderful World of Widgets. Students will be also be shown example manifests, and learn when to update generator forms and complete LDR notification requirements. |

| Course Limitations: This course does not cover the detailed hazardous waste determination specifications and hazardous waste generator requirements which are covered in other course. This course does not cover DOT regulations as they pertain to proper completion of manifests. Students taking this course must have a reasonable working knowledge of the hazardous waste regulations in order to complete this course. | |||||
