Learn Basic Environmental Math, Part B
Course Objective: The objective of this course is for students to continue to learn basic environmental math skills necessary for everyday commonplace activities at water and wastewater treatment plants. It is a continuation of the typically encountered environmental calculations and should be taken only after completion of Part A. |

Contents: Virtual
lectures and hands-on activities are set up in a series of
assignments to enable students to learn principles including (1) Concentrations,
loadings, and averaging; (2)
Determining removal rates and treatment
efficiencies; (3) Using
proportions and ratios; and (4) Logarithmic calculations.
Math is cool! And, you will be surprised how much you enjoy crunching numbers while taking this course. Students will be provided with step-by-step detailed explanations and actual math examples to help demonstrate the principles. And, students will execute a series of calculations to ensure their mastery of the basic environmental math skills. |
