Begin with the following equation:

Use the following conversions:
1,000,000 gal = 1 MG
3.785 l = 1 gal
1,000 mg = 1 gram
1 lb = 454 grams
Substitute in the conversions to the equation to derive the conversion factor
Divide out the like units, which will eliminate gal and gram
Multiply out the numbers and combine the remaining units and you will arrive at:
which thus shows your conversion factor
Note, by the way, that the above is identical to the following, but if you want to know why, you can do the math:
And, we are writing it this way because it better show the cancellation of the units.
Thus, when you multiply out the left side of the equation, you will find that the other units cancel to let you solve for the lbs/day.
