|||||
| Course
Contents: Virtual lectures and
hands-on activities are set up in a series of nine assignments to enable students to learn to
establish appropriate pretreatment permit limitations and conditions
for industrial facilities.
Students will be guided through category determinations, including the
impacts of the definition of new source on industrial classifications. Then, they will apply
the combine waste stream formula and flow weighted averaging in a
series of exercises to determine appropriate concentration and mass
limitations for the Wonderful World of Widgets. Students will
then have the opportunity to evaluate a draft permit against their
understanding of the appropriate limitations and conditions which
should be imposed on our virtual industry. Students will learn how to
develop comprehensive permit application packages to avoid later
confusion and conflict. Mastering the determination of appropriate permit limitations and conditions is an important skill to ensure that a fair and equitable and logical and reasonable permit is provided. |
