Training for Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Operators and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Operators
Specification State Requirements
Training requirements for WTP and WWTP operators As of 2000:  All certified operators must attend approved water and wastewater industry related training in order to acquire "Continuing Education Units" (CEUs) within a three-year period in order to renew their certificates. One CEU is equivalent to ten hours of classroom instruction. Operator Grade Levels I and II must obtain 2 CEUs in a three year period. Operator Grade Levels III and IV must obtain 3 CEUs in a three year period.
Coursework approval As of 2000:  Coursework must be approved through the State.
Test completion As of 2000:  Not specified.
Certificate of course completion As of 2000:  Not specified, but useful.
