| Training for Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Operators | |
| Specification | State Requirements |
| Training requirements for WWTP operators | As of 2000: For Wastewater Certification - 48 hours of continuing education credits (CECs) every three years required for renewal. 24 hours must be MDEQ sponsored courses. The other 24 hours may be obtained by attending in-house, vendor or other organization training which has been approved by the State. |
| Coursework approval | As of 2000: Courses must be approved by the State as specified above. If courses are not pre-approved, operators should request approval of courses prior to the class but in no case more that 60 days following completion of the courses. Requests received more than 60 days after the course will not be considered. |
| Test completion | As of 2000: Successful completion of the course must include completion of all assignments and passing the test with 60% correct. |
| Certificate of course completion | As of 2000: Certificates of completion must be provided to the student and must include the title of the course, completion date, and number of hours awarded. A copy of the certificate must be submitted by the operator with the renewal application. To facilitate this specification, we provide both the original and a copy to the operator upon satisfactory completion of the course. |
